i like to comment and i like to receive comments and constructive criticism, but i suppose it is just one of those things that some people don't like

People usually have a reason for disabling comments, like if they get too many and it's overwhelming (that's usually the really popular people), or they don't like getting comments, or something like that.
I personally love getting comments and I like commenting but I usually just fav and run xD

Sometimes I really want to comment, but ultimately I respect their choice if they'd rather disable.

disabling is a great idea, when it starts to get away from the actual piece, but otherwise it is always nice to be able to discus a piece with the artist and other viewers
