NO NO NO NO NO!!!! I think "god" is an absolute pile of shit (christian). It is not real, it is a fake imaginatory thing people fool themselves into believing in... I got into a massive argument with this girl at my school over whether god was real or not... She said that there was proof god was real. Bullshit. I'm an athiest, THROUGH AND THROUGH!!! Sure, if someone came up to me and was like, hey, meet god, or here are some pictures or a recording or whatever...plausible proof, lets call it. If they did, of COURSE I'd believe. But seeing as there isn't....I stand my ground. And I'm not budging.
By the way if you got offended....ask your imaginary friend in the clouds to help!!!
Yes...a resounding yes!!! I have been on the other side, and all I have seen are people trying to pretend that there is so much power in all that they do. I have yet to see it in a way that would convince me without any doubt. I have dabbled in the spirit world and am sensitive to that, but...there is nothing like being filled with pure elation and joy and hope by His touch! I could go on, but I'll stop.
I believe in God, I however, do not believe in religion. I believe the Bible is a good story and all, which sums up to what I believe, God wants us to be good people; which clearly includes, no lying, stealing, killing, ect.
I'm not going to write you 5 pages about this, I'm sure I've said enough to put two and seven together.
When one looks at a chair, he does not say to himself,"That chair came here by accident. That chair is the workings of chance." Rather, he says to himself,"That chair has DESIGN; it was made to be sat on. It has features that make it obvious that there is a designer." In the same way, our bodies are beautifully designed. DNA, with all of it's incredible design and absolute efficiency. Our feet, which have more efficient design than the worlds most complex suspension bridge. All of our bodies seem to scream out, "SOMEONE WITH INCREDIBLE INTELLIGENCE AND POWER MADE ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MY WONDERFUL DESIGN!" It would be foolish to say that there is no God. And that was just ONE example. ^_^ <3
I do, but I've got kind of a Watchmen view to it (always have, even before I read it, lol): we're made, wound up and set free to make our own decisions. I don't believe in everything being "God's will." That would just be effed up. Otherwise, look at Japan. God did that? No, tectonic plates did that... Now and then, I'll drop by church, but only when I feel like it. When I have kids, I plan on raising them in church as I was raised, but when they are old enough to make their own decisions, they will be free to do so. I think the church community, providing you find the right one, can be kind of like a second family that you can rely on in times of need, and I think it's important to raise kids to know how to be part of an active community and be involved, especially with fundraisers and charities and giving back and stuff. There are more reasons to go than just to worship. As for believing in more than one, why the hell not? Nothing in the Bible (which is suspect in and of itself) says anything about there not being any more than one... It just said "don't worship any before Me." That's kind of vague. I'd like to think there are lots of fantastical things out there that we will never know about until we're dead. I have this weird hope that when we die and move past this plane (as in not alive and not a ghost wandering around waiting to cross over), we know everything...
And I've gone off an a tangent... shorter answer: yes.
